About the Role

JSB Protection Services is recruiting an experienced Residential Security Officer to join an already established team protecting private residential properties across the Birmingham and Coventry area. You will form part of a wider security team, with flexibility to work across different locations when operationally required. This is a front-line, customer-facing role. You will be the first person residents see and the first line of response when required. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work and are presentable, professional, reliable, and able to take accountability and responsibility when required.

Previous experience working in residential security is mandatory.

What You'll Be Doing

• Controlling access to properties by verifying residents, visitors, contractors and deliveries, while maintaining accurate entry logs.

• Conducting foot and vehicle patrols of perimeters, grounds, communal areas and parking facilities at set and randomised intervals.

• Monitoring CCTV, alarm systems and intercoms, and responding to activations promptly and proportionately.

• Acting as the first responder to incidents, including medical emergencies, fire, anti-social behaviour and trespass, and escalating to the emergency services and JSB Control when required.

• Writing clear and factual daily occurrence reports, incident reports and handover notes.

• Enforcing site rules and parking controls calmly and professionally, defusing conflict wherever possible.

• Assisting residents with everyday queries, key handling, deliveries and general white-glove, concierge-style support.

• Carrying out fire alarm checks, lock-up procedures and health and safety walkarounds in accordance with assignment instructions.

• Supporting the wider team and providing security cover at different residential properties throughout the Coventry and Birmingham area when required.

Essential Requirements

• At least three years' front-line security experience within a residential, concierge or high-net-worth environment.

• A valid SIA Door Supervisor or Close Protection licence, held in physical card form and available on every shift.

• A full UK driving licence and access to a clean, presentable vehicle, as the role will involve use of your vehicle during shifts.

• The right to work in the UK and a clean, verifiable five-year employment history.

• Strong written English for report writing and confident verbal communication with residents at all levels.

• A smart appearance and professional conduct in company uniform at all times.

• The physical ability to patrol on foot for extended periods and respond quickly to incidents.

• Flexibility to work across properties in the Coventry and Birmingham area as operational requirements change.

Desirable

• First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid certification.

• CCTV Public Space Surveillance SIA licence.

• Conflict management, Fire Marshal or FREC training.

• Experience using access-control platforms, CCTV suites and digital patrol or reporting systems.

• A Close Protection background or experience supporting high-profile residents.
